Maria Chiguvari BURNING Spear might be 79 but, when the Jamaican legend gets on stage, his camp says he turns into someone who resembles a teenager. The Jamaican superstar is set for the “One People Africa Tour” concert at the Glamis Arena tonight and his camp has told his fans to expect a show-of-a-life-time. The legendary musician will share the stage with Killer T, Feli Nandi, Cello Culture, Transit Crew and Emmanuel “Mannex” Motsi.

Emcees Judgement Yard, Merciless and Banso Da MC have also been added to the line-up. Speaking ahead of the show, his road manager, Empress Marcey, said fans should expect high energy from the legend. “When he is on stage, forget his real age because in his mind he is like a 15-year-old.

“Winston Rodney will always make everyone look bad on stage with the way he carries himself. “He takes care of his health and lives a good life. “One thing we all have learnt from him is kindness,” said Marcey.

The two-time Grammy award winner’s visit is courtesy of Friends of Jamaica, working alongside Sound System Club. The camp is also celebrating Burning Spear’s album, “No Destroyer,” which was recently nominated for a Grammy award. After the Harare affair, the Jamaican singer is set to perform in Johannesburg tomorrow and in Cape Town on Sunday, before continuing his tour in Zambia and Malawi.

Burning Spear has joined a list of top Jamaican acts such as Morgan Heritage, Capleton, Buju Banton, Luciano, Fantan Mojah, Sizzla Kalonji, Mavado, Elephant Man, Popcaan, Chris Martin and Beenie Man who have performed in Harare..
