The Redmi Note series has long been the backbone of Xiaomi's success in India, consistently delivering feature-packed smartphones at wallet-friendly prices. With the launch of the Redmi Note 14 Pro+, the company aims to push the boundaries of what we expect from a mid-range device. But in an increasingly competitive market, does this latest offering have what it takes to stand out? Let's dive in.
Striking Design The moment you lay eyes on the Redmi Note 14 Pro+, it's clear that Xiaomi has upped its design game. Gone are the days of plastic builds and uninspired aesthetics. This phone feels premium, with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the front and Gorilla Glass 7i on the back.
The curved edges nestle comfortably in your palm, while the camera housing adds a touch of distinctive flair. Further, the IP68 rating for dust and water resistance rating offers some much-needed peace of mind. Display Xiaomi hasn't skimped on the screen, equipping the Note 14 Pro+ with a 6.
67-inch curved AMOLED display that's an absolute joy to use. With a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 3000 nits, this panel is a powerhouse. Whether you're scrolling through social media, binge-watching your favourite Netflix series, or gaming, the visuals are crisp, vibrant, and smooth.
The HDR10+ and Dolby Vision support make a noticeable difference, especially when watching content on streaming platforms. Camera performance The Redmi Note 14 Pro+ boasts a triple camera setup that's more capable than ever. In good lighting, the primary camera does well: Colours pop without being oversaturated, and the level of detail is impressive.
The addition of a proper telephoto lens is a game-changer for this price range, allowing for high-quality zoom shots that were previously the domain of much pricier phones. Low-light performance has seen noticeable improvements too. While it may not quite match the night photography capabilities of flagship devices, it's more than capable of capturing those evening outings with friends or family gatherings.
The ultrawide camera does a decent job, though there's a noticeable drop in quality compared to the main sensor. It's perfectly serviceable for those group shots or landscape vistas, but don't expect miracles in challenging lighting conditions. Selfie enthusiasts will appreciate the 20MP front-facing camera, which captures sharp self-portraits.
However, I did notice some overzealous skin smoothing at times, even with the Beauty mode turned off. Performance Under the hood, the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ is powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset. This might not be the absolute top-tier processor in the market, but in real-world usage, it's more than capable of handling anything you throw at it.
During my testing, I put the phone through its paces, and the Note 14 Pro+ took it all in stride, with only occasional, minor hiccups in the most demanding scenarios. That said, there is some bloatware, but the good news is that you can uninstall these apps. Battery life If there's one area where the Redmi Note 14 Pro truly excels, it's battery life. Xiaomi has managed to cram a massive 6200mAh battery into this device, and the results are impressive.
With heavy usage — including gaming, video streaming, and social media — I consistently ended the day with 25-30% battery remaining. For more moderate users, two full days on a single charge is entirely possible. The included 90W fast charger might be a step down from the 120W charging on the previous model, but it's still blazingly quick.
You can go from empty to full in about 35 minutes, which is perfect for those mornings when you've forgotten to plug in overnight. Verdict At a starting price of ₹ 30,999, the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ offers a combination of features, performance, and build quality that punches well above its weight class. Is it perfect? No.
The software could use some refinement, and the camera system, while vastly improved, still has room for growth in certain areas. But when you consider the overall package — the premium design, excellent display, versatile cameras, strong performance, and marathon battery life — it's hard not to be impressed.
