The Detroit Red Wings and Lucas Raymond have a new contract in place. Raymond is locked in for the next eight years and he will have an AAV of $8.075 million.

However, the team keeps building and locking up its young core longer term. The first order of business was locking up captain Dylan Larkin , but landing Raymond to a new deal is huge going forward. Given the pieces that are in the fold, the team has tremendous depth up front.

This was the coming out party for Raymond, as he popped off for a career season. During the 2023-24 season, Raymond went on to score a career high 31 goals and 72 points. Since entering the league in the 2021-22 season, he has never finished below 40 points and has surpassed the 20 goal mark twice.

This was a huge year for Raymond and he lands a lucrative deal because of it. Raymond is a huge piece for the Red Wings and becomes a nucleus of what they are building. The Red Wings Outlook With the New Contract This Raymond contract is great for both sides.

The Red Wings continue building forward and getting on the right path towards being a playoff team. They came very close this season and having Raymond in the fold helps ensure that. Raymond becomes a huge scoring threat for the Red Wings for years to come.
