Red Wing man charged with felony criminal sexual conduct with a juvenile

The man is accused of having a sexual relationship with a juvenile girl.

RED WING, Minn. — A Red Wing man has been accused of criminal sexual conduct with a 15-year-old girl, according to a criminal complaint in Goodhue County. Jeffrey David Nelsen, 43, was charged with seven felonies on Friday, June 14, 2024.

The felony charges include two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct by penetration of a juvenile, one count of first-degree criminal sexual conduct by penetration or contact of a juvenile, two counts of second-degree criminal sexual misconduct-significant relationship with a minor, one count of second-degree criminal sexual conduct for contact with a minor and one count of third-degree criminal sexual misconduct by penetration of a minor. According to court documents: Nelsen was seen walking with a teenage girl, holding her hand and kissing her. Goodhue County Health and Human Services conducted a forensic interview with the girl.



During the interview, she said she had a “bond” with Nelsen. In addition to going on walks and hanging out together, the girl said she and Nelsen talk on the phone nearly every day, court documents said. ADVERTISEMENT The girl alleged Nelsen engaged in sexual conduct five to 10 times since the holidays in 2023, court documents said.
