Red Velvet’s Wendy and Yeri’s exclusive contracts with SM Entertainment have ended, but they will continue as members of the group. SM Entertainment posted the announcement on Red Velvet’s X page. “We are informing you that our exclusive contracts with Wendy and Yeri have come to an end,” the statement read, according to a translation by Soompi .
“The time we spent together with Wendy and Yeri, who—after debuting as Red Velvet—were not only active in group promotions but also as solo artists in various fields, was a great joy for us as well," SM added. “We will cherish all the moments we have spent together with them until now, and we will sincerely root for Wendy and Yeri as they make a new start.” SM Entertainment assured supporters that Wendy and Yeri will continue to work with them as Red Velvet members, “and we ask that you look forward to Red Velvet’s shining journey that will continue to unfold.
” The agency thanked fans “for the unsparing love you have given Wendy and Yeri” and asked for continued support as they start new chapters. Wendy debuted with Red Velvet in 2014, whereas Yeri joined the group in 2015. Yeri debuted as a solo artist in 2019 with the song “Dear Diary.
” Meanwhile, Wendy has been recording songs for Korean dramas since 2015. Her debut solo EP “ Like Water ” dropped in 2021. Red Velvet’s latest album “ Cosmic ” was released in 2024.
The group was last in Manila in September 2024 for the My Dear, ReVe1uv Fancon Tour . A concert film of the tour premiered in Philippine cinemas last February. ?????.
