Red Raiders Swept by Cyclones

Brynn Williams finished with 14 kills and seven digs as the Texas Tech Red Raiders were swept 3-0 by the Iowa State Cyclones inside United Supermarkets Arena in Lubbock on Saturday. The Red Raiders (13-13, 4-9 Big 12) had three players - Williams (14), Mia Wesley (10) and Emily Merrick (10) - combine for 34 of the 37 kills tallied by Tech in the loss. © Nathan Giese/Avalanche-Journal / USA TODAY NETWORK Hanna Borer tallied the third double-double of her season with 28 assists and 11 digs.

Maddie Correa posted nine digs, three assists and a kill. Iowa State dominated the first set, hitting .448 with four serving aces and took a 1-0 lead at 25-14.



Tech couldn't overcome 16 Cyclones kills. In Set 2, Williams posted back-to-back-to-back kills to make it a one-point game at 18-17, but Iowa State turned it up after a timeout, finishing the set hitting .308 with three more aces.

Tech out-hit the Cyclones at .316 but couldn't overcome errors in the second set. Tech led in the third set and went up 5-2 after a couple of kills by Williams, but Iowa State proved to be too much, taking the lead at 12-10.

The Cyclone never looked back while securing its sweep on Tech's Senior Day.
