Record number of holiday travelers expected in Wisconsin

MADISON — Holiday getaways are on the minds of millions of Wisconsinites this year as a record number from the dairy state are to hit the road next week, according to AAA — Wisconsin. During the Christmas holiday period, from Saturday, Dec. 21 to Wednesday, Jan.

1, AAA predicts 2.39 million Wisconsinites will travel 50 miles or more from home. That’s 76,278 more travelers than the previous record high, set last year.
