The reality TV star, 43, disclosed that she is now battling stage four cancer following the discovery of six new tumours in her brain earlier this year. Teddi has bravely faced over 20 surgeries in her two-and-a-half-year battle with the disease. Now, she has explained how her cancer has metastasised to her lungs and brain in a heartbreaking update.

The daughter of rock legend John Mellencamp, Teddi is confronted with the harrowing thought of her three children - daughters Slate, 12, Cruz, 10, and Dove, five - potentially facing a future without their mother. In an intimate conversation with US Weekly , Teddi said: "I had six brain tumours and two lung tumours; they all came from melanoma that metastasised into these tumours inside of my body." She further detailed how the recent findings have necessitated a shift in her treatment approach.

"I find out for sure exactly where we stand on June 1," Teddi revealed, reports the Mirror . "If you need to do another round, if there's any other surgery, if it's the end. It's a hard pill to swallow.

"It's got to be extremely difficult to think about the end.' This is definitely the hardest thing [I've faced in my life], but now it feels less hard. When I was in the ICU, it was incredibly difficult because I had no memory.

"One day, I realised it was my daughter's birthday, and I couldn't be there for it; it was really sad. It's still sad when I can't be there for my kids the way I'd normally be." Cancer Research UK defines stage four cancer as the stage where "the cancer has spread from where it started to another body organ.

This could be, for example, the liver or lung. It's also known as secondary or metastatic cancer." In February, Teddi opened up about her emergency hospital visits and the urgent surgeries she needed.

Last month, she took to Instagram to share her health journey with fans. She revealed her treatment plan, stating: "Day one of immunotherapy. I do immunotherapy once every three weeks.

And then next week I start radiation and I do it every single day." With a hint of humour regarding her routine, she added: "Yup, I really hope it's at 8 am so it does not conflict with the pod." Shortly afterwards, she updated her fans with how the session had gone.

She admitted: "Well, I’m pretty glad that's over. “It wasn't actually that bad during it, it was just the last 20 minutes - the nausea. It came in hot, it’s still here.

But I did it. First treatment is over and I feel like I am going to be really ready for work tomorrow. I mean, I’m practically going to bed at 6pm, so I should be fresh as a daisy.
