Reader's View: Republicans represent moral high ground

Hardly spontaneous, America’s greatness has always been rooted in its citizens’ acquiescence to the U.S. Constitution.

Notably, government powers were intentionally divided to obstruct tyrannical proclivities, the same motivation behind carefully delineating individual rights to be expressly protected. America’s Founders weren’t born yesterday (lol). Any wonder the phrase, “we the people,” is still prominent.



So why restate the obvious? Because Democratic Party machinations keep making clear Democrats no longer acquiesce to ensuring domestic tranquility, promoting the general welfare, and securing the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity. It’s hardly neighborly to pass laws jeopardizing parental custody of children simply because parents choose to reject government promoting private vices as public benefits. Today’s mass illegal-immigration crisis epitomizes the Democratic modus operandi of inciting social issues to create political gambits as leverage in the Democrats’ never-ending efforts to subvert traditional American values.

ADVERTISEMENT Paraphrasing a 1991 speech by David Kelley after the Soviet Union’s collapse, altruism in ethics has only promised to make humanity a religion and redistribution of wealth the rule. Social-justice activism shaming the individual ability to become a social asset squelches freedoms, while trade in a free-market economy enables freedoms. Nobody wants to address that global GDP growing from $11 trillion to $87 trillion since 1980 hasn’t stopped exploitation for the benefit of a few.

Again paraphrasing Kelley, comparing a collectivist society where nobody’s free but nobody’s hungry to an Individualist society where everyone is free but a few starve, the morally preferable choice is a free society. The real transformation is epitomized by today’s Republicans now representing the moral high ground: They’re America’s preferred choice.
