In light of the Feb. 28 fiasco in the Oval Office, it is imperative that we as proud Americans reaffirm our unwavering support for our staunch ally. Ukraine is not just fighting for its sovereignty; it is standing up for the values and freedoms that resonate deeply within all of us.
I say this as someone who has visited Ukraine during this terrible war. When I went there last spring to deliver medical supplies that I had crowdfunded for the Ukrainian military, I was struck by how similar our countries are in terms of shared values. There were several times when, upon discovering I was from America, Ukrainians thanked me profusely for our country's support.
Ukraine is our friend, and we cannot abandon its people to Russian President Vladimir Putin. Acting like a murderous tyrant, Putin refuses to recognize Ukraine's right to exist, either as a political entity or as an ethnic nation. ADVERTISEMENT As we witness the unfolding crisis, it is crucial for our representatives to recognize the importance of supporting Ukraine in its struggle.
Congressman Pete Stauber has the opportunity to be a voice of reason and strength in these challenging times. We must urge him to stand firm against any betrayal of our allies and to advocate for continued support for Ukraine. D. Vance are living in a disinformation space that is dangerous not only for Ukraine but also for America. If our president is unwilling to stand with our friends, we should do it as citizens.
