RB Leipzig full-back David Raum was among the first to register a comment following the blockbuster news of Thomas Müller’s departure from Bayern Munich yesterday. Raum spoke to Sky Germany following his side’s Bundesliga victory over Hoffenheim. The left-back raved about his German national team colleague and wasn’t shy about sharing his opinion on the controversial decision from Bayern management.
“ A few days ago, I said to my wife that I am really grateful to have been on the pitch with him, ” Raum told Sky. “ I’m just happy that we have a footballer like that in Germany. “ I can only offer up my own opinion, ” Raum continued.
“ If I were the club, I would keep him around as long as possible. It wouldn’t matter if it was on the pitch or on the bench. In my opinion, he is a great guy.
“ Whether he’s off to the golf course or still playing a little football here and there, it’s definitely going to be weird not to see him in an FC Bayern jersey next year, ” Raum concluded. GGFN | Peter Weis.
