Raven-Symoné’s teen psychic character on “That’s So Raven” once gave Disney Channel viewers glimpses into the future — and now the actor is shedding some light on her past in the entertainment industry. On a Wednesday podcast episode , Raven-Symoné discussed why she had often worn heels on-screen during her career. “In an interview, I heard you talk about how Disney wanted you to wear heels a lot,” a host of “The Unplanned Podcast” told her.

“Yes and no,” the actor said. “There was an understanding that if you’re short and you wear heels, it thins you out. Because if you look taller, the proportions work out.

” The “Cheetah Girls” star, who is a little over 5 feet tall, said that many of her outfits on “That’s So Raven” included heels. She said there were even times when she would wear them with pajamas. The “Unplanned Podcast” host said that this sounded “extremely hard” for a teenager, especially given the “disconnect between your body and your self-image.

” The actor noted that the early 2000s were a “different time period,” saying she wished the people around her would not have commented on her body. “Nobody was my size at that time, doing what I did,” she added. On an October episode of the “Bright Side” podcast, the actor addressed rumors that footage of her body had been manipulated on “That’s So Raven.
