Popular actress Rashmika Mandanna recently revealed her look for the upcoming film Kubera on social media, sparking a viral reaction among fans. According to sources, the film, directed by Sekhar Kammula, features Rashmika in a “substance-filled” role, marking a departure from her glam-centric performances. Known for crafting strong female characters in his films like Anand and Fidaa, Kammula appears to have created another layered role for the actress.

"This is a performance-oriented role, which Rashmika chose to add depth and variety to her career,” says a source close to the project. Beyond Kubera, Rashmika is making strides to balance her career between Tollywood and Bollywood. Following her praised role in Animal, she is set to appear alongside Salman Khan in the upcoming big-budget film Sikandar.

Additionally, she awaits the release of Pushpa: The Rule, a highly anticipated sequel in which she reprises her role as a rural character—a role that gained her considerable acclaim in the prequel. Sources speculate that Rashmika is intentionally diversifying her portfolio to maintain longevity in the industry. “She understands that glam-centric roles may have a shorter shelf life, while memorable performances can have lasting appeal in both Tollywood and Bollywood,” an industry insider commented.

In a major first for her, Rashmika is also headlining the female-centric film Rainbow. The project is a strategic move to expand her acting range while proving her ability to draw audiences as a solo lead. Following collaborations with major stars like Mahesh Babu, Allu Arjun, and Vijay Deverakonda, Rainbow aims to showcase Rashmika's crowd-pulling power and acting prowess.

With an array of challenging roles on her slate, Rashmika Mandanna is setting a new trajectory for her career, solidifying her place in both regional and national cinema..
