Tension flared at the University of Hyderabad yesterday as police clashed with students protesting against the Congress -led Telangana government's plan to redevelop 400 acres of land near their campus. Urging the need for a sustainable future, she has called for the preservation of the forest in Gachibowli.

The Telangana government plans to build an IT park on the site and insists it has no connection to the university. However, students argue that the construction threatens the forest's rich biodiversity.
