Vadodara: Waghodiya BJP MLA Dharmendrasinh Vaghela found himself in an uncomfortable situation after a man accused of rape was spotted dancing at an event organized by his charitable trust in Amodar village. The accused, identified as Aakash Gohil , was seen on stage during the programme on Saturday night, swaying to the music. A viral video on social media shows Gohil tossing currency notes in the air during a ‘dayro' (folk song event).

At one point, he is garlanded by another man while a folk artist performs beside him. When asked about Gohil's presence, Vaghela claimed he was unaware of it. "These events are open to everyone, and I don't even know who he is.

With such a large crowd, it's impossible to monitor every attendee," Vaghela told TOI. He added that his party workers noticed Gohil only after he got on stage and immediately asked him to leave. "He was sent away, but he may have uploaded the videos himself.

He has no association with our party or event. It's possible that the dayro group invited him," Vaghela clarified. Gohil, reportedly a BJP worker, was arrested by Nandesari police last year after a married woman accused him of rape.

She alleged that in September, Gohil entered her room while she was alone and assaulted her. He is currently out on bail..
