THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A rape case has been registered against Sukanth Suresh, suspect in the suicide of IB officer of Thiruvananthapuram International Airport. The Pettah police registered the case after getting evidences on it. A case has also been registered against him for kidnapping.
Evidence was obtained for taking the woman to Kochi and Chennai. Her family had handed over the evidence of sexually assaulting her to the officers the other day. The documents of seeking treatment in the hospital after sexual assault was handed over to the officials.
Her father had also alleged that Sukanth had financially exploited her. He alleged that Sukanth had embezzled her entire salary for the past eight months. A complaint has also been filed with the IB, ADGP, Pettah police and Koodal police in this regard.
Meantime, Sukanth had approached the high court yesterday seeking anticipatory bail. Sukanth had filed the bail plea from his hiding place. In his bail plea, Sukanth said that he is innocent in the case and has no role in her death.
His plea said that he has never misbehaved with her. He had always interacted with love, respect and ensuring safety. He wanted to marry her and said that his love was sincere.
The woman was found dead after being hit by a train near the Pettah railway overbridge on March 24. She had spoken to Sukanth for eight minutes just before she ended her life..
