Amid the ongoing controversy surrounding YouTuber and influencer Ranveer Allahbadia over his remarks on the show India’s Got Latent, fresh developments suggest that the Maharashtra Cyber Cell may soon initiate legal proceedings against him. According to a report by India TV, the cyber unit had earlier summoned Ranveer Allahbadia, Apoorva Mukhija, Ashish Chanchlani, and Samay Raina for questioning. While Samay and Ashish complied with the summons, Ranveer and Apoorva failed to appear, which the authorities have now cited as non-cooperation.

The backlash against Allahbadia began when a disturbing segment from India’s Got Latent went viral. In the episode, he asked a contestant, “Would you rather watch your parents have s*x every day for the rest of your life or join in once to make it stop forever?” The deeply offensive question was met with laughter from panelists, including Chanchlani and Mukhija, which only intensified public outrage. Several FIRs were lodged against the creators and producers of the show.

Following public outcry, the National Commission for Women (NCW) intervened. Ranveer was compelled to submit a written apology, though the damage had already been done. The Supreme Court later granted him interim protection from arrest, though the bench criticised his remarks as “vulgar” and symptomatic of a “dirty mind” that brought shame to society.

In the midst of mounting pressure, Ranveer returned to podcasting with a video message to his audience titled “Dear India,” in which he pleaded for a second chance. “We will improve our podcast quality, and like every week, 4 episodes will come, focusing on India’s rich history, culture, and personal growth topics,” he promised. Meanwhile, Apoorva Mukhija broke her silence on the ordeal, revealing the severe mental toll the controversy took on her.

“Every single day that I would wake up, something new would be happening. I would have sleep paralysis because I would be scared..

. I am so glad I had such good people around me,” she said, shedding light on the psychological distress she endured..
