The new Netflix drama has only just dropped, but Ransom Canyon Season 2 is already being planned. Thing is, Yancy won’t come away unscathed. If new episodes of the binge-worthy TV show have taught us anything, it’s that Yancy Grey (played by Jack Schumacher) is a liar.
Not only has he lied to Cap about his true identity, but he’s lied to new love interest Ellie about having a wife he’s essentially run away from. It’s a leaf out of Brady from Virgin River ’s book, and we just can’t help but fall in love with him no matter what comes out of his mouth. One thing’s for sure, though – the fallout will only get worse in Ransom Canyon Season 2.
As of writing, a second season hasn’t actually been confirmed, but that hasn’t stopped creators from “cooking up” what would come next. Obviously, that’s not exactly great news for Yancy. Yancy’s past will haunt him in Ransom Canyon Season 2 Speaking to Dexerto, Schumacher explained, “I’ve got to be careful with my words, because I do know a few things that are getting cooked up [for Season 2].
“Obviously, Yancy has got to continue to confront the mistakes of his past, which keep showing up. In the midst of that, the challenge is, ‘How do I show that I have changed? How do I make this love that I’ve found work before it’s ruined? Before people give up on me?’” Related Fire Country Season 3 trailer reveals one character at death’s door and fans aren’t happy Yancy and Ellie’s romance has been one of the biggest storylines since he arrived in town, with Ellie immediately drawn to what he might be hiding underneath. If we really are looking at another Brie and Brady situation, fans could be playing the will-they-won’t-they game for the long haul.
But just as actress Zibby Allen thinks the Virgin River pair are endgame , Schumacher believes Yancy and Ellie can go the distance. “I’m just as curious as probably the fans will be, because I don’t get to know the full thing,” he added. “I think there is a real love and connection there.
But like in life, drama and love are complicated, and it’s not an easy thing to navigate. And I think that will be true. So we’ll see what they’re able to do.
