Vidarbha batter Karun Nair on Saturday scored a century against Tamil Nadu in their Ranji Trophy 2024/25 quarterfinal at the VCA Stadium, Civil Lines in Nagpur. The 33-year-old got to the three-figure mark in 171 deliveries with 14 fours and one six. This was his third hundred of this First-Class season and the 22nd of his career.
Nair has been in good form this season. During the Vijay Hazare Trophy, the List A competition, Nair notched up five centuries on his way to 752 runs, the most by a batter in an edition. He also scored 542 runs without getting dismissed, a record in List A cricket.
On Saturday, Nair walked out to the crease with his side in trouble at 44 for three. He added 98 runs with Danish Malewar for the fourth wicket before combining for 64 runs with captain Akshay Wadkar to steer Vidarbha out of trouble.
