The season for festive cheer is upon us but there were a few Scrooges on the Hotline where the usual Glasgow bickering is still going strong. Michael Emonds, Northampton, wants to see some coal in regular caller Chris Lowe's stocking as he wrote in: "Chris Lowe says Celtic are in the weakest group in Champions League history, but how can that be possible when Rangers, the worst team in Champions League history, aren’t in it? Oh silly me, they failed to qualify! Mighty Lazio, the team who sit at the top of the Europa League table that Rangers are in, got horsed home and away by Celtic the last time they played them in that competition. As Greavsie would say 'it’s a funny old game Saint'.
" And James Brown, Glasgow, was swinging for everyone as he said: "I see that Gary Stevenson was having a go at Gordon Ashley and his comments about Rangers . Stevenson is yet another Rangers fan who blindly ignores every comment on here from Chris Lowe and his obsession with all things Celtic. The Rangers fans don't do irony, that much is clear.
What a bunch of hypocrites they are, but I, along with all other Celtic fans are enjoying their constant pain." Along the same lines, Brian McColligan said: "It’s such a shame that our Govan associates wont improve by playing the dross that’s on offer in the Europa League , whilst Celtic can pit their wits against the best." Elsewhere there were a couple of solutions offered up to the current situation at Ibrox.
Stephen Johnstone, Ardentinny, said: "The new CEO at Rangers should consider two managers, one for the European games and one for the domestic ones, as Philippe Clement is doing great in the Europa. League. All the board need is to find one for the SPFL and then they are sorted.
" And Tam Williamson, Lanarkshire, has an idea too...
He said: "Rangers being skint should empty their biscuit tin and 'Play the Scotto' as advertised on TV, as everyone is 'guaranteed' a win." Oh yeah, there was a Scottish Cup draw, wasn't there? Fraserburgh are on their way to Glasgow in January and Andrew Lamb, Fraserburgh, said: "Delighted for my good friends at the Broch to get an away tie to Ibrox. Great news, and a chance to make a few bob.
Great experience for the players at Fraserburgh." Elsewhere there were some harsh words for whistler Kevin Clancy who failed to send off Jack Milne against Hearts at the weekend. John Caw said: "Once again Mr.
Clancy showed why he should hang up his whistle. If ever there was an ordering off offence it was the Aberdeen player. A flying tackle and Clancy did nothing.
Players have been sent off for less." Tune in to Hotline Live every Sunday to Thursday and have your say on the biggest issues in Scottish football..
