Asked who his inspiration is from the world of showbiz, Randeep named Naseeruddin Shah and Salman Khan and praised their “long" careers.
“I have worked with Naseer (Naseeruddin Shah) saab, I have learnt a lot from him. Sunny (Deol), Salman (Khan) and many people are an inspiration. These people have had long careers.
They are on top of their game," he said. Randeep Hooda, who is currently gearing up for the release of his next movie Jaat, explained that the previous generation of superstars were iconic because they had no social media and were not always visible to the audiences everywhere. Arguing that the element of rarity is now lost, Randeep shared that it is the reason that actors today are not as relevant as they used to be earlier.
“Even today, big stars in our country are those who became such before social media. We had to buy magazines to catch a glimpse of them. We used to watch Chitrahaar.
We used to hire cassettes. Now, all of it is available for free. You know who is wearing what, who is holidaying and everything.
Back then, you had to put effort to watch these stars. Why are they relevant even today? Because they were rare. They had special value.
