Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayan is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious projects in Indian cinema, and the latest reports suggest that Ranbir Kapoor will take on the monumental task of playing not just one, but two iconic characters—Lord Ram and Parashuram. According to an exclusive report by PeepingMoon, Ranbir Kapoor is set to portray both the calm and righteous Lord Ram and the fierce and fiery Parashuram in the upcoming epic. The film will dive into the legendary encounter between these two avatars of Vishnu, particularly focusing on the moment when Parashuram confronts Lord Ram after he shatters Lord Shiva’s divine bow, Pinaka.

"Parashuram's role may be brief in the epic, but it is undeniably significant," a source told the publication. The filmmakers are ensuring that Ranbir’s portrayal of Parashuram feels unique and distinct from his role as Lord Ram. His transformation will be so thorough that the audience may not even recognize him as the same actor.

The legendary Amitabh Bachchan is also involved in the film, though in a unique capacity. Bachchan will not physically appear on screen, but he will lend his iconic voice to the divine bird Jatayu, a crucial character in the story. Jatayu heroically attempts to rescue Goddess Sita from Ravana, sacrificing his life in the process.

While it’s a cameo role, filmmakers are going the extra mile, using VFX technology to scan Bachchan's eyes, ensuring his presence is felt in an innovative way. The ensemble cast for Ramayan is nothing short of extraordinary. Joining Ranbir Kapoor is South Indian star Sai Pallavi, who will portray Goddess Sita.

Yash, known for his blockbuster success in the KGF series, will take on the role of the fearsome Ravana. The film will also feature Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Ravi Dubey as Laxman, and Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi. Rakul Preet Singh will bring the villainous Shurpanakha to life, while Arun Govil, famously known for playing Lord Ram in the classic TV series Ramayan, will portray Dashrath.

Kunal Kapoor will step into the role of Indra Dev, Harman Baweja as Vibhishan, and Sonia Balani as Urmila. With such a stellar cast and an epic storyline, the stakes are high. Production began in April of this year and is expected to wrap up by November, with a planned worldwide release in 2026.

The anticipation surrounding this film is immense, as fans eagerly wait to see how this mythological tale is brought to life with modern cinematic techniques and an ensemble of India’s finest actors..
