Ramon "Ray" Inez Valencia, 88, of Grand Island, passed away on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at the Good Samaritan Society Grand Island surrounded by his loving family.

Ramon "Ray" Inez Valencia, 88, of Grand Island, passed away on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at the Good Samaritan Society Grand Island surrounded by his loving family. Celebration of Life service will be at 10 a.m.

Friday, September 20, 2024, at All Faiths Funeral Home. The service will be livestreamed on the funeral home website. Visitation will begin at 9 a.



m.. Interment will take place at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

giallfaiths.com . Ray was born on October 14, 1935, in Pecos, New Mexico, to Inez and Ana Maria (Lucero) Valencia.

He spent his early years in Pecos and moved to Santa Fe as a teenager and graduated from Santa Fe High School. He served nine years in the U.S.

Army National Guard and was honorably discharged on March 6, 1963. Ray was united in marriage to Ella May Britt, and to this union five children were born. Ray was primarily employed in retail throughout the years with the longest periods being for Gambles and Lukasiewicz Furniture.

Some of Ray's greatest joy came from spending time with family, being outdoors, and eating good food. He loved to travel, camping in his RV, and visiting new places. Those left to cherish Ray's memory include children, Mark Valencia of Raytown, Missouri, Bryan (Sha) Valencia of The Woodlands, Texas, Adam (Tami) Valencia of Alda, Nebraska, and Becky Maggiore of Renton, Washington; his grandchildren, Morgan (Johnothon) Dillon and Josiah Valencia, Joseph (Tori), Jackson (Alexandra), Reid and Riley Valencia; Abby (Josiah) Young, Evan (Eden), Katie, Georgia, Luke and Ellie Valencia; and Anisa and Ethan Maggiore; five great-grandchildren with two more on the way; his longtime sweetheart, Phyllis Rice; a sister, Ana Maria Martinez of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and two sisters-in-law, Donna Valencia of Bend, Oregon, and Helen Valencia of Norwalk, California.

Ray is preceded in death by his son, David Valencia; his parents, Inez and Ana Maria Valencia; two brothers, Tony and Bobby Valencia; and three sisters, Teresa Valencia, Maggie Gonzales, and Grace Lujan. Get local news delivered to your inbox!.
