Rallies mark Voters’ Day observance

Kakinada: Voters’ Day celebrations were observed across the Godavari Districts, with rallies and 3k runs organised in Eluru, Kakinada, Dr. B.R.

Ambedkar Konaseema, East and West Godavari Districts on Saturday. In Eluru, a rally from the Indoor Stadium to the Collector's office was flagged off by District Collector K. Vetri Selvi.



She highlighted that 16,37,55 voters, including 7,99,283 men, 8,38,146 women, and 126 third-gender individuals, were enrolled, and she encouraged people to register through Anganwadi centres, helplines, or online platforms. In Kakinada, the 15th Voter’s Day was celebrated under the leadership of Joint Collector Rahul Meena. A rally from Zilla Parishad Centre to Vivekananda Park was conducted, with over 16 lakh voters enrolled.

Meena urged citizens to exercise their voting rights at all levels of governance. East Godavari District Collector P. Prashanthi flagged off an awareness rally at Y Junction, concluding at Sri Venkateswara Anam Kala Kendram.

Ambedkar Konaseema, a 3k run was organised from the Collector’s office to Clock Tower Centre in Amalapuram, led by Joint Collector T. Nishanthi. In West Godavari, District Revenue Officer Mogili Venkateswara Rao administered a pledge for voters to use their vote responsibly.
