Reality TV star Cora Schumacher, 47, was married to Ralf, 49, for 13 years between 2001 and 2014, a decade before the German came out as gay on social media.

Mail Sport reported earlier in November how Cora had checked into therapy due to experiencing panic attacks, having claimed she only found out the former racing driver is homosexual via Instagram this year. Ralf, the younger brother of seven-time world champion Michael, came out as gay in July when he revealed that he is now in a relationship with French business manager Etienne Bousquet-Cassagne. Cora, who claims this is the first she heard of the relationship, announced on Instagram that she has sought therapy over the saga, which has 'opened up many old wounds' following her divorce from Ralf a decade ago.

According to German outlet Bild , Ralf is taking legal action against his ex-wife in an effort to prohibit her from making statements about their relationship and his sexuality on Instagram, with the most recent warning letter arriving at Cora's lawyers a few days ago. Cora's lawyer Verena Haisch added: 'It is bad enough that Ralf Schumacher took the mother of their son by surprise with his coming out, then attacked her legally and refused to reach an agreement.

'But the fact that he is now issuing another warning to his former wife, even though I explained to his lawyer exactly how bad Cora Schumacher is feeling and how urgently she needs rest, leaves me speechless. 'Fortunately, Cora Schumacher is a strong and kind-hearted woman who will recover.' She went on to claim that things would end badly for Ralf should he take the matter to court upon Cora's refusal to issue an injunction.

Alleging she would bring all sorts of evidence to the table, Haisch said: 'If Ralf Schumacher wants to have it clarified in court whether he was already homosexual during the marriage, and what that meant and what he did with his wife, then we will clarify that.' Since Ralf's shock announcement in July, the pair's relationship has escalated into a bitter feud. Cora reacted angrily to the bombshell news by claiming she had 'wasted her best years' on Ralf, but the brother of F1 legend Michael hit back, insisting she had known that he was gay before he went public.

Ralf's lawyers reportedly sent a warning letter to Cora's legal representatives a few days ago Ralf (left) is the brother of F1 icon and seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher (right) He leaked WhatsApp messages that appeared to show Cora congratulating him on his relationship with Bousquet-Cassagne prior to his social media revelation. Ralf has received the support of his son, David, who told Cora to 'leave us alone' last month, as he claimed his mum has 'mental problems'.

In her Instagram statement, Cora referenced people turning on her for her decision to seek help. She wrote: 'The numerous false statements and hostility on the internet have taken their toll.' Cora is adamant that she made the right call by going into therapy, as she told her Instagram followers: 'It was definitely the right decision to take this path - to finally experience understanding and healing.
