RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Jaden Miller caught the acting bug at a young age at the Raleigh Little Theatre and the North Raleigh Arts and Creative Theatre.

"I have always had the bug. My mom helped me get to where I am today," he said. "I sacrificed a lot, but I knew this was his purpose, his calling, and I followed the vision God gave me," said Jaden's mom, Georgia Miller.

Jaden graduated from Cardinal Gibbons High School in Raleigh in 2024 and enrolled as a freshman last fall at North Carolina A&T. In November, he auditioned for CBS' new soap opera "Beyond the Gates," and as he was taking finals, he learned he had landed the role. My mom was crying, and I was like, it's happening," he said. Jaden and his mom are big believers, and he says his mom keeps him focused. "You have to believe, and believability is a strong thing along with faith," he said.

He is taking classes online, working on set in Atlanta, and taping scenes for Beyond the Gates. "I play Tyrell Richardson," he said. "I'm somewhat part of the Dupree family; I'm adopted.

"The series is set in a Maryland suburb of Fairmont Crest and focuses on the Dupree family, a powerful and prestigious multi-generational family. It's the first-ever one-hour black daytime soap opera and the first daytime drama to premiere in more than 25 years. His mom says Jaden is up for a challenge because he did so much to prepare for this big moment.

"It has taken sacrifice, dignity, integrity, and discipline to get here," he said."He has had many sleepless nights staying up late and still managed to be a full-time student," said Georgia Miller. And even though he's days away from his big debut, he isn't spilling too much about the drama of his role.

"I can't give away too much. It's a permanent role, so I won't be gone and never come back," he said. Jaden will debut on CBS's Beyond the Gate this Wednesday, March 12, at 2 p.

m. on CBS 17. You can also stream episodes anytime on Paramount Plus.
