Recognized for his prowess in bet-the-company litigations and arbitrations, Rana advises multinational corporations, sovereign clients and high-net-worth individuals in their most complex, high-stakes disputes.

Rana's track record in significant international disputes is highlighted by his roles in cases against Croatia , Venezuela , Azerbaijan , Lithuania , Kenya and Uganda . His most notable cases include representing clients in two parallel arbitrations arising out of a wrongful termination of a railway concession against Uganda and Kenya as well as treaty arbitration for a UK-based mining company in a dispute against India .
He also represented an African cement company in parallel arbitrations against Algeria . Clients trust Rana for advisement on commercial and investment treaty disputes around the world, including in matters with ICSID and its Additional Facility. He has strong interest in the clean energy sector, especially in lithium and other rare-earth minerals, as well as manufacturers, retailers and suppliers of electric batteries and vehicles.
As a first-generation Indian American, Rana has become a trusted advisor for Indian multinationals, ultra-high net worth individuals and Indian origin leaders globally. Rana is consistently recognized as a "Future Leader" in Arbitration by Who's Who Legal , and he was the Leadership Council for Legal Diversity (LCLD) Fellow for 2023.
