Rain likely to intensify on Monday, Tuesday The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) says that more rain is coming soon, and may provide some relief from the late August and early September heat, reports bdnews24.com. Meteorologist Shanaz Sultana says there may be more rain on Sept 2 and Sept 3.
"The current level of rain is likely to persist tomorrow and the day after. As there is less rain now, it is getting hotter." Some parts of the Mymensingh, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions, and one or two parts of the Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, and Barishal divisions may experience temporary gusty winds, light to moderate rain and thunderstorms.
Some parts of the country may also see moderate rain. The most rainfall recorded in the 24 hours to 6am on Friday is 27mm in Rangamati. Chattogram's Ambagan and Cumilla saw 9mm of rain, Noakhali's Hatia 8mm, and Bandarban 7mm.
When an area experiences 1-10 mm of rain in 24 hours, it is considered light rain, 11-22mm is considered moderate rain, 23 – 43 mm is considered moderately heavy rain, from 44-88mm is considered heavy rain, and anything above 88mm is considered very heavy rain. The BMD says day and night temperatures in the country are likely to rise too. The highest temperature recorded across the country on Thursday is 36.
