Ajay Devgn, Vaani Kapoor, Saurabh Shukla, director Raj Kumar Gupta and producers Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak attended the launch of the trailer of their film Raid 2 at a multiplex in Mumbai. As expected, there were questions on the box office scenario and Ajay raised valid points while answering them.Ajay Devgn began by saying, “Right now, we are still struggling. We still don’t know what the audience will come in for and what they will not. But we think we have an idea of how the audiences have evolved and changed over the years during the pandemic due to too much exposure to international content on OTT. Hence, we are adapting to it. That’s how we are also changing. But as I said, nobody is very sure. We all are struggling. Nevertheless, we are trying to figure things out.”He continued, “It’s not that Bollywood films are not working. Some films all over the world are either working or they are not working. It could be Bollywood, the South film industry or Hollywood. Everywhere, the situation is the same.”When asked if high prices are deterring people from coming to theatres, Ajay Devgn replied, “I don’t think that’s the reason. When the audience is coming to cinemas, they are paying the same amount of money for the ticket. Hence, I don’t think that’s the reason. I feel the audience makes up its mind on what to watch and what not to watch on the big screen. I also feel that the kind of promotion that we implement, is not attracting an audience. They yearn for content. If the trailer of your film lands well and if the songs are a hit, then the audience definitely comes in. Hence, it all boils down to what they want to see.”Raid 2 releases in cinemas on May 1.Also Read: Raid 2 trailer launch: Ajay Devgn reacts to a sensational question in his trademark style: “I won’t be raiding the houses of Shah Rukh Khan or Salman Khan...”
