PALAKKAD: The counting of votes has ended in Palakkad and Chelakkara constituencies. UDF candidate Rahul Mamkootathil and LDF candidate U R Pradeep have won in Palakkad and Chelakkara constituencies. Rahul has won with a record majority of 18,715 votes.
The majority of Rahul is more than Shafi, who won last time. The activists are celebrating Rahul's victory by bursting crackers and distributing sweets. BJP has come to the second position in Palakkad this time also.
In Palakkad constituency, there was a huge vote loss for BJP in many places including city areas. Rahul attained 58,244 votes. NDA candidate C Krishna Kumar got 39,529 votes, LDF candidate Dr P Sarin got 37,348 votes.
The LDF has managed to get more votes than last time. Pradeep won the Chelakkara constituency by 12,122 votes. Ramya Haridas, the UDF candidate from Chelakkara, responded that compared to the 2021 elections, the LDF's majority was reduced to one-third.
