Congress’ Rahul Gandhi urged mid-career professionals to join the Dr Manmohan Singh Fellows Programme in order to build a talent pool within the party. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi called on mid-career professionals to be part of the Dr Manmohan Singh Fellows Programme and contributed to nation building. Under the programme, 50 mid-career are chosen each year to contribute to society through politics.

“It’s time India’s brightest minds brought their power to politics. The Dr. Manmohan Singh Fellows program is our call to mid-career professionals—step into public life, lead with integrity, and help build a progressive and inclusive India," Rahul Gandhi posted on X, sharing the online registration form.

Earlier, Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera said those taking part in the programme will “have an opportunity to bring their expertise into politics and contribute meaningfully". “Through this initiative, we aim to bring a fresh approach to politics and foster mutual learning. This platform is for professionals who believe in the Constitution of India and the party’s core values," Khera was quoted as saying by news agencies.

“This is a serious programme for serious individuals with a strong commitment to public service. We hope that the future leadership of the Congress party will emerge from these cohorts of Dr Manmohan Singh fellows. That would be a fitting tribute to the legacy of the former prime minister of India," Praveen Chakravarty, chairman of the Professionals’ Congress and head of the party’s data analytics department was quoted as saying by the National Herald .
