KATSINA : Governor Dikko Umaru Radda of Katsina state has approved the appointment of Alhaji Lawal Ahmed Rufai Safana, as Special Adviser Local governments Inspectorate. This is contained in a statement by Abdullahi Yar’Adua, the Director Press office of the SGS made available to newsmen in Katsina on Tuesday. According to the statement, the appointment is based on merits and in consideration of his vast experience in local governments administration.
“The creation of the new Department under the Ministry for Local Government and Chieftancy Affairs was part of the present administration’s efforts to entrench transparency and accountability at the grassroot level of government”. The appointment letter signed by the Secretary to the Government of the State, Alhaji Abdullahi Garba Faskari stated that the appointment takes immediate effect. The Governor while congratulating Alhaji Lawal Ahmed Rufai, wished him Allah’s guidance in his new appointment.
Alhaji Lawal Rufa’i is a retired Permanent Secretary, who served in the Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs for many years..
