Selections based on a soft/good track. Race 1 - 2:00PM DRINKWISE PLATE (1900 METRES) 4. Tastula is ready to win fourth-up and brings the best last-start figure into this event.
The gelding wasn’t suited at Kembla Grange 15 days ago to the sit/sprint race shape, but he kept picking up over the concluding stages to finish second with a margin to third. He is at optimal fitness, draws well, and any improvement will make him hard to hold out. Canterbury will host a seven-race card on Wednesday.
Credit: Bradley Photos Dangers: 9. San Jeronimo is a knockout chance coming through a high-rating race, and nothing went right for him last start. He can go to a new level stepping out on a more suitable trip and can settle closer.
3. Space Age is rock-hard fit and will roll forward. 11.
The Beast is consistent, and Nash Rawiller rides. How to play it: Tastula WIN. Race 2 - 2:35PM KIA ORA PRAGUE PLATE (1200 METRES) 16.
Bella Corazon resumes off a 141-day spell and looks to have returned well after two recent sharp trials. The three-year-olds first-up run last prep had merit in a high-rating race, and repeating that effort/figure can put her in the finish. Further, she was run to suit but ran on well and clocked one of the meeting’s fastest final 600m splits.
The filly is ready to sprint fresh and will appreciate the anticipated genuine tempo. Each-way. Dangers: 17.
Sister Daae is a lightly raced improver and had too much to do last start at Newcastle. She will have only benefited from that outing and is a key late-market watch. 9.
Tasoraay was honest in defeat first-up at Doomben when running second, and the margin to third confirmed the quality. Nash Rawiller rides, and the blinkers go on for the first time. 12.
Divine Ella is coming through a strong form race and 18. Recruiter has a much more positive race setup here. How to play it: Bella Corazon E/W.
Race 3 - 3:10PM PINATUBO @ DARLEY HANDICAP (1200 METRES) 1.Ringarosa is ready to peak third-up down in grade and is coming through a high-rating race. The mare has had too much to do in both runs this campaign, and she had to exert too much energy between the 600m-200m last start before peaking late.
Her ratings profile suggests she improves deeper into a campaign, and she has the closing speed to run over the top of her rivals with the claim suiting. Dangers: 7. Not That Easy is looking for 1300m, and she hit the line hard last start, clocking the meeting’s fastest final 200m split.
She maps to be smothered away and, with even luck, can be in the finish. 6. Deceive has trialled well enough and has a solid platform to kick off her campaign.
4. Red Hot Lizzie is lightly raced and a winner at this track. Market watch.
10. Joyner is a consistent type and has the inside draw. How to play it: Ringarosa WIN.
Race 4 - 3:45PM RANVET HANDICAP (1550 METRES) 5. Darling Downs , a consistent type, is racing well this prep and won easily last start at Kensington. The mare had every chance but accelerated hard and kept picking up to the line with the clock backing up her late visual strength.
Further, she ran one of the meeting’s fastest final 200m splits, and there has been a subsequent winner to confirm the form. She has to stretch out to the 1550m, but she is in career-best form and the tight-turning track suits. Dangers: 7.
Investment went to a new level first-up and produced a career peak figure when winning at Wyong 11 days ago. She can step off that and maps to have all favours. 4.
Copacabana receives a significant barrier change, and the blinkers going back on suits. The claim suits 1. Galano and 3.
Zenmaster will roll forward. How to play it: Darling Downs WIN. Race 5 - 4:20PM CASINO PRINCE @ VINERY STUD HANDICAP (1900 METRES) Lightly raced import 5.
Maximum Dividend was impressive, winning first-up at Wyong, and he ran fast time/sectionals relative to the day. Further, he was well-ridden but showed a sharp turn of foot and put his rivals away with style. The O’Shea & Charlton trained galloper has now acclimatised, has an improver’s action, and the rise to 1900m looks ideal.
Dangers: Forgive 3. Tajanis’ last start where he wasn’t run to suit, but his starting price must be respected. He has multiple winning figures and can bounce back here.
2. Cormac T is building towards a win in this preparation, and his rating’s profile suggests he is ready to peak. Add 10.
Flying Step and 1. Knights Armour to trifectas and first fours. How to play it: Maximum Dividend WIN.
Race 6 - 4:55PM TAB HANDICAP (1100 METRES) 12. Private Harry was impressive on debut when winning at Newcastle after being heavily backed late in the trade. The colt travelled well throughout transit, showed immediate acceleration and won with style going through the line full of energy.
He has the key attributes and potential to step sharply in grade here and receives a positive race setup. Additionally, the rise in distance will pose no issue and expect him to be hard to hold out with even luck. Dangers: 3.
Jambalaya returns from a 165-day spell and brings strong form lines into this assignment. He is ready to sprint fresh and draws well. 10.
Zealously won well first-up at Kembla when resuming as a gelding, and he brings a competitive last-start figure. 13. Ces Soirees La is a knockout chance and market watch on 2.
Queen Of The Mile. How to play it: Private Harry WIN. Race 7 - 5:30PM HYLAND RACE COLOURS HANDICAP (1100 METRES) Leaning towards 4.
Accredited with the drying surface suiting, and he’s always promised to be well above this grade. He looks ready to sprint fresh after two trials where he has gone to the line full of energy and not extended. He has a positive race setup, a solid first-up record and multiple winning figures for this event.
Dangers: Forgive 3. Shines last start where he had factors against on a deteriorating track, and he can be back here with a soft draw. 2.
Yiska is well-weighted and went out on a career peak figure before spelling last prep. 8. Zaragoza is fit and a last-start winner.
How to play it: Accredited WIN. BEST BETS: Race 5: (5) Maximum Dividend Race 6: (12) Private Harry BEST VALUE: Race 2: (16) Bella Corazon Supplied by Racing NSW Full form and race replays available at racingnsw.com.
