RECENTLY, a video went viral showing a woman riding a motorcycle away from a grocery store in Kuala Pilah, Negri Sembilan while a man attempted but failed to stop her. The situation has raised various questions online, with some associating it with a robbery. Is this true? VERDICT: FALSE According to Kuala Pilah OCPD Supt Amran Mohd Gani, there was no robbery, but rather a misunderstanding between two women at a grocery store in Pekan Kuala Pilah.
According to Sinar Harian, Supt Amran said that the Criminal Investigation Division of the Kuala Pilah police headquarters received a police report from a 70-year-old woman on Friday (Oct 18) at around 6pm. “The report is related to a misunderstanding with a 30-year-old female customer at her grocery store, following an issue over missing money from the store’s sales. “Further investigations at the scene found no evidence to suggest any criminal activity related to the missing money, and it was determined that it was just a misunderstanding,” he said in a statement on Sunday (Oct 20).
He added that both parties were called to give their statements and after discussions, they acknowledged that a misunderstanding had occurred, and they apologised to each other. “The public is advised to verify the accuracy of any incident with the authorities before uploading pictures or videos on the internet. “This is to prevent the spread of inaccurate information, which could cause unnecessary concern among the public,” he said.
