Recently, a post on social media claimed that the electricity supply from Anak Bukit to Kepala Batas in Kedah would be cut off due to worsening floods. So is true that power will be cut off to those areas? Verdict: FALSE In a Facebook post on Saturday (Nov 30), TNB Careline said this was fake news and there is no immediate power cut scheduled.
It urged the public not to believe unverified messages and to halt the spread of false information that could cause unnecessary concern. However, it said electricity supply would be temporarily cut off only if floods worsen and pose a risk. "Supply will then be cut off at affected electricity substations to ensure the safety of local consumers," it said.
