Super Eagles star Kelechi Iheanacho has vowed that Nigeria will approach their next 2026 World Cup qualifiers with a ‘red eye’. The Nigerian international was in the starting line up as Nigeria lost 2-1 to Rwanda in a 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo on Monday. In a chat with Victor Modo, the Sevilla star stated that he can’t wait for the qualifiers to commence.
“We must go with red eyes and win all these games. This is World Cup qualifiers and we know how big it is. And now we have how many draws? They are the ones ahead in the World Cup qualifiers and they are down here.
” he told Victor Modo. “I can’t wait for it to start so that we just go there and do this thing so everyone will rest and not shake that we won’t go to the World Cup.” the former Leicester city forward added.
