Qatar tribune Tribune News Network Doha Students from Qatar University’s (QU) College of Business and Economics recently showcased their exceptional talent and innovative thinking on the global stage by participating in the prestigious ‘Building Trust for a Shared Future’ competition. This contest challenges students worldwide to create original videos that promote trust-building in critical areas such as institutions, economic systems, conflict resolution, and the digital revolution. This international video contest, organised by the Victoria Forum in collaboration with the Global Business School Network (GBSN), is hosted by the University of Victoria and the Senate of Canada.

The college has announced that two of its teams have been recognised as top five finalists in this esteemed competition. Team Al Annabi, consisting of Iman Al-Obaidly and Safin Mahmud, and Team Dream, featuring Humyra Nizam and Hafsa Anjum Allahbakash, have distinguished themselves through their thought-provoking and impactful video submissions. Dr Rana Sobh, dean of the College of Business and Economics, expressed her pride in the students’ accomplishments, stating, “This achievement is a testament to the creativity, resilience, and global mindset of our students.



They have not only excelled in representing Qatar University on an international platform but have also contributed meaningfully to the global conversation on trust-building. Their success reflects the quality of education and the spirit of innovation we cultivate within our college.” The Victoria Forum, a platform dedicated to fostering conversations that lead to actionable outcomes for a sustainable and inclusive future, partnered with GBSN to bring this competition to life.

The contest provided students with a unique opportunity to contribute to global discussions on trust-building, offering fresh perspectives on some of the most pressing challenges of our time. Reflecting on their experience, Iman Al-Obaidly from Team Al Annabi said, “Participating in this competition was an incredible journey. It pushed us to think deeply about the role of trust in today’s world and how we can inspire positive change through our work.

” Humyra Nizam from Team Dream added, “Being recognised as a top five finalist among so many talented teams worldwide is a great honor. It motivates us to continue exploring ways to address global challenges and make a meaningful impact.” This remarkable achievement by students underscores the creativity, dedication, and global awareness that defines the College of Business and Economics.
