Doha, Qatar: Access to safe water and sanitation (WATSAN) is a human right. Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) focuses on digging water wells, installing water pumps, tanks, pipelines, and solar panels; and deploying water tankers to serve disadvantaged communities and improve their living and health conditions. According to its Projects Guide 2025, there are 10 WATSAN projects to be implemented by QRCS for the benefit of 438,510 people in Gaza, Syria, Yemen, Niger, Somalia, Sudan, Lebanon, and Mauritania, at a total cost of over QR13m.
Looking back at the results of 2024, the QRCS implemented numerous WATSAN projects to serve 562,854 people, at a cost of QR12,148,221. At a cost of QR30,987,435, multi-sector projects targeted 2,504,253 people.
