On Sunday 6 October 2024, the picturesque Berrinba Wetlands came alive with excitement as QMI Creswalk 2024 brought the community together for a memorable day of fitness, fun, and camaraderie. With 469 registered participants, this year’s Creswalk exceeded expectations and solidified its place as a much-anticipated highlight on the local event calendar. The day was made even more special by the presence of Mayor Jon Raven, who praised the energy and dedication of attendees, reinforcing the community’s commitment to health and wellness.
His encouraging words set a lively tone for the event, adding to the vibrant atmosphere that filled the wetlands. Across scenic trails, participants of all ages and fitness levels embraced the challenge, competing in various divisions where trophies awaited the winners. From seasoned runners to enthusiastic first-timers, the event provided an inclusive and supportive environment, ensuring everyone had a chance to shine.
In a heartfelt touch, every finisher was awarded a medal, symbolising their dedication and achievement. The president of QMI, Habib Jamal, stated, “the success of QMI Creswalk 2024 was a testament to the hard work of volunteers and the generous backing of sponsors, with a special acknowledgment to the Sadaqa Welfare Fund, and to the members of the community for showing their support for this community based event. Their invaluable support made the event seamless and enjoyable for all involved.
