Qatar tribune Tribune News Network Doha To enhance psychological and emotional support for young cancer patients, a team from the Qatar Cancer Society (QCS) visited the paediatric oncology ward at Sidra Medicine. The initiative, supported by Toys 4 Me – Qatar, aimed to provide moral support to the children by distributing gifts and vouchers. This visit is part of QCS’s broader efforts to offer comprehensive care to cancer patients, particularly children, by implementing various programmes that enhance their quality of life during treatment.

The visit involved meaningful interaction with the children, who were given gifts such as educational and recreational toys, thoughtfully chosen to meet their needs and encourage them to enjoy their time during treatment. Additionally, the visit included entertainment activities designed to bring smiles to the children’s faces and foster a positive atmosphere filled with hope and optimism. Commenting on the visit, Mona Ashkanani, general manager at QCS, emphasised the importance of psychological and emotional support for children with cancer and their families, stating: “Providing this kind of support is an integral part of our societal role.



Through this visit, we aim to bring joy to the children and ease their suffering by offering gifts that add a touch of happiness. Our ongoing collaboration with Sidra Medicine enhances our ability to deliver such initiatives.” She further noted that the visit is part of the sustainable programmes implemented by QCS to support cancer patients, especially children.
