Qatar tribune Tribune News Network Doha Media City Qatar (MCQ) participated in the Al Jazeera Documentary (AJD) Industry Days event, held in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, from September 14 to 16. Organised by Al Jazeera Balkans in cooperation with Al Jazeera Media Network (AJMN), the event featured MCQ as a key partner promoting Qatar as a hub for content creation. The event was dedicated to broadening the global presence of documentaries, encouraging international co-productions and linking key decision-makers with promising projects.

MCQ was represented by Thair Khaled Al Anani, director of Business Development, and Tevfik Ergun, Strategy & Business Planning manager, along with a senior delegation who actively participated in discussions throughout the event. MCQ seized the spotlight at a dedicated session attended by documentary filmmakers, investors and leading industry professionals, showcasing its pivotal role in advancing Qatar’s media industry. By outlining strategic initiatives, MCQ reaffirmed its commitment to supporting diverse creative talents, driving economic diversification and positioning Qatar as a destination for global media.



Speaking on MCQ’s participation in the event, Anani said, “Media City Qatar’s presence at AJD Industry Days solidifies our commitment to global media collaboration. Documentaries are powerful tools for storytelling, and we’re dedicated to empowering content creators, media entrepreneurs and filmmakers worldwide. ” MCQ, an emerging global media hub, offers a favourable regulatory environment, cutting-edge business facilities and compelling incentive schemes to ensure the success of emerging media ventures in Qatar.This setup provided documentary filmmakers from these regions the chance to network with decision-makers and leading professionals from both regional and international documentary and TV industries. The aim was to help secure funding for documentary production, facilitating broadcast, distribution, screening and sales on a global scale.
