Ludhiana: PWD officials protested against the road construction contractor on Friday, accusing him of pressuring their fellow junior engineer, Sarup Singh, to make higher bills and filing false complaints against him on the government portal. They accused the contractor of blackmail and demanded action, including blacklisting, against him. Engineer Sarup Singh said that the contractor was given work of constructing a 320 feet road to Bicycle Valley on Dhanansu Road but he constructed just 200 metres of the road.
He said that they prepared the bill accordingly but he was pressuring him to prepare a bill of around Rs 20 lakh.
