Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has extended an olive branch to opposition parties, urging them to join forces with him to develop the State. This call came after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared him the winner of Saturday’s governorship election, securing 366,781 votes across the 18 Local Government Areas. In his acceptance speech, Aiyedatiwa commended INEC, security agencies, and stakeholders for their diligent efforts during the election.

He also expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for providing exemplary leadership and ensuring a level playing field. “As your Governor, I promise to continue to run an inclusive and participatory government, where every citizen has a voice and an opportunity to contribute to our collective progress. Aiyedatiwa dedicated his victory to God and the memory of his former boss, late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu. He emphasized the need for unity, stating, “Now that the elections are over, it is time to rededicate ourselves to the service of our dear state. I extend a hand of fellowship to the opposition parties and invite you to collaborate with us in building a better Ondo State for the overall good of our people.
