Puri Jagannath Temple Ratna Bhandar repair work to be completed by Akshaya Trutiya: Justice Biswanath Rath

Puri: The repair and preservation work of the Ratna Bhandar of Puri Shri Jagannath Temple will be completed within a month. That is, the target is to complete the work by the upcoming Akshaya Trutiya (April 30). After the repair work is completed, the process of transferring the gold and ornaments of the deities will begin.

This was informed by Justice Biswanath Rath, Chairman of the Inspection Committee.The temple administration and ASI are making all efforts for the early completion of the work. This will preserve the structure of the temple for another 75 to 100 years.



The renovation of the inner room of the Ratna Bhandar is almost complete. Five old beams connecting the inner and outer chambers of the Ratna Bhandar have been replaced with strong steel beams,” he told the media.He added that the work on the outer chamber of the Ratna Bhanar has been started.

“The work is sometimes getting affected due to rituals for the upcoming Rath Yatra. However, work is being done for about 3-4 hours every day. We cannot do any work after Snana Purnima and during Patti Seva.
