LAHORE - In line with the Punjab govt’s directives, the Punjab School Education Department (SED) on Wednesday issued instructions to all govt and private schools across the province to implement a revised dress code policy. The new guidelines prohibit students and teachers from wearing jeans, T-shirts, and jackets on school campuses. According to SED sources, the initiative aims to promote discipline and maintain decorum within educational institutions.
The dress code will be uniformly applicable to both male and female students, as well as teaching staff. Under the new rules, male students are required to wear formal dress shirts and pants, while female students must wear modest attire, which includes the mandatory use of a dupatta. Jeans are now strictly prohibited for female students.
Similarly, all female teachers must wear traditional shalwar kameez with a dupatta while on campus. These changes are part of a broader govt strategy to foster a disciplined and culturally respectful learning environment in schools across Punjab..
