Pune forest division and Zilla Parishad to conduct fruit-bearing tree plantation in 303 model schools

Pune: The Pune forest division will conduct large-scale fruit-bearing tree plantation projects in 303 model schools in the district. The Zilla Parishad will finalise the schools where the plantation will take place, after which the work will begin from June. The project will be implemented in collaboration with forest department, Pune, Zilla Parishad, Pune, and Loha Foundation.

It was inaugurated at Apla Pune Marathon conducted by the forest dept. This initiative aims to create a sustainable and eco-friendly learning environment for students while promoting environmental awareness and improved nutrition. Speaking on the occasion, Krishna Prakash, IPS, ADG Force One, honorary race director of Apla Pune Cyclothon, said, "This initiative reflects our deep commitment to fostering a greener and healthier future.



Planting fruit-bearing saplings in schools will not only enhance environment but also provide nutritional and educational benefits to students. Involving students in this green initiative will instil a sense of responsibility and environmental stewardship among them from a young age." The tree plantation project aims to promote environmental awareness, conservation, and sustainability among students, enhance the green cover in schools, provide students with access to fresh fruits, and offer a hands-on learning experience about sustainability and ecology.
