MARDAN - Like other parts of the province, religious political parties held protest rallies here on Friday to express solidarity with the oppressed Palestinian people and to condemn the atrocities committed by Israeli forces against innocent children and women. The rally began at Bagh Masjid and turned into a protest gathering in front of the Commissioner House after Friday prayers. It was organized by Sipah-e-Sahaba, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan, Alami Majlis Tahaffuz Khatm-e-Nabuwwat, and other religious parties.
The protesters were led by Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Mardan District Ameer Maulana Amanat Shah Haqqani, General Secretary Mufti Hamadullah Yousafzai, Maulana Muhammad Ali Shah, JI Ameer Ghulam Rasool, and other leaders. They chanted slogans against Israeli brutality and in support of the Palestinian people. Addressing the crowd, speakers strongly condemned Israeli aggression and criticized the rulers of the Muslim Ummah for their silence.
They stated that the continued indifference of Muslim leaders, including those in Pakistan, toward the atrocities committed in Palestine is shameful. They argued that just as the United States openly supports Israel in its actions, Muslim rulers should also stand united against Israeli aggression and use the collective resources of the Muslim world to oppose the oppression. The speakers declared that jihad against Israel has become obligatory and that turning away from this obligation is a grave sin.
