Prostitution racket busted in two hotels in Mota Varachha

Surat: The Utran police busted a prostitution racket operating in two hotels in Mota Varachha on Thursday, arresting nine people, including six customers, and rescuing seven women. Among the rescued women were five Thai nationals and one Nepalese citizen. The police raided the hotels located on the fourth floor of Panvel Point Complex near AR Mall after receiving specific intelligence about illegal activities being conducted there for months.

The hotels, owned by Jonil alias JD Kevadiya and Vijaysinh alias Kano Parmar, were being used as hubs for the racket. During the operation, police arrested six customers and three staff members.As the Thai women were in India on tourist visas, the police initiated proceedings to notify the immigration department regarding the violation of visa regulations.



The investigation revealed that pimps Shivam Gajera and Bhavna Patil were responsible for arranging and sending the women to the hotels. Both Gajera and Patil, along with hotel owners Kevadiya and Parmar, were booked under relevant sections of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act and the IPC. However, the four suspects are currently on the run.
