Prosecutors arrest shaman for allegedly receiving illegal political funds

Prosecutors on Tuesday arrested a shaman allegedly involved in President Yoon Suk Yeol's 2022 presidential campaign, on suspicions of receiving illegal political funds, officials said.

Seoul Southern District Prosecutor's Office in southwestern Seoul / Newsis Prosecutors on Tuesday arrested a shaman allegedly involved in President Yoon Suk Yeol's 2022 presidential campaign, on suspicions of receiving illegal political funds, officials said. Jeon Seong-bae, also known as Geon Jin, is accused of violating the Political Funds Act by receiving illegal political funds from multiple candidates who ran for office in the 2018 local elections. Jeon is believed to have been involved in Yoon's presidential campaign before his election in March 2022, and has been accused of flaunting his personal ties to Yoon and his wife, Kim Keon Hee.

He also reportedly served as an adviser at first lady Kim's former company, Covana Contents. (Yonhap).
