The Group 1-winning trainer has two leading contenders in the shape of Let’s Go Again contesting the Onecall Steel And Form Maiden Plate (920m) and Downtown Bar in the Douglass Blinds And Security Screens Maiden Plate (1200m). She ran home well at her first start to finish fourth at Queanbeyan and then she ran second at Moruya before being spelled. “Both of those starts were over 1200m, and she resumes on Tuesday over the 920m, but I expect her to be very competitive.” Downtown Bar is a three-year-old filly by Sebring Sun, and she followed an unplaced trial effort at Nowra with a debut fifth behind Asuriito at Moruya at the end of last month.

“The winner [Asuriito] won that race pretty well,” Parker said. “But my filly hit the line well enough to finish fifth, and the step up to the 1200m on Tuesday looks made to order. Lee [Magorrian] was on her in that race, so he has a good feel for her and that is an advantage.

” Asuriito will be out to maintain his unbeaten record when he lines up in the Mogo Wildlife Park Benchmark 58 Handicap (1010m) with James Innes jnr in the saddle. Trained at Hawkesbury by Blake Ryan, Asuriito is a three-year-old gelding by Brazen Beau, and he was strong to the line when racing on the speed and winning on debut at Moruya when Innes jnr was also aboard. Asuriito has drawn well in gate three but will face stern opposition from a couple other last-start winners in the Lauren Davies-trained Laguna Seca (Nick Heywood) and the Jarrod Austin-prepared Hermosa Rosa (Ellen Hennessy).
